Often, we hear from individuals lamenting that organic cotton clothing is expensive and hard to find.
While we agree that it is not as available as we'd like to see,
there are many places to find just what you are looking for.
Here are some sources which may surprise you.
Organic Fashion From The Midwest
Esperanza Threads is a cooperative which provides jobs, with fair wages, to low-income individuals for manufacturing organic cotton clothing in Bedford, OH. It is a project of the Grassroots Coalition for Economic and Environmental Justice of Ohio. They specialize in organic cotton clothing for man and women.
Grass Roots of Iowa City, IA has a variety of hemp and organic cotton products for men, women and children.
Lauren Celeste of Chicago, IL designs 100% organic cotton knit clothing for Infants and toddlers.
Maggies Organics of Ypsilanti, MI manufacture clothing made from organic fibers. Their products are made from certified organic cotton, wool, linen and hemp.
Wildrose Farm has a unique commitment to recycling 100% of their fabric resources. This Breezy Point, MN organic cotton clothing company does this in two ways, larger scraps are woven into rugs and small scraps are made into paper.
